MISSION

Brooklyn Collective is a gallery + boutique space for artists, makers, and members of the handmade movement to showcase their work free from the pressures of mass-market retail. 

We offer the public an intimate shopping experience with a curated selection of fresh new designs from local New York artists. Every purchase from Brooklyn Collective helps fund an artists' creative freedom. 

Through a cooperative effort, we are pushing the boundaries of art and design and the ways in which individuals shop for art.

BACKGROUND

Brooklyn Collective opened in 2004 to offer emerging artists & designers an affordable place to display and sell their creations. 

The space is owned and operated by Tessa Williams, a dress maker whose collection is available at the shop. Her husband, creator of LHN Jewelry, handcrafts his line of mens' jewelry from The Studio School, and their two youngsters can often be found chumming around with friends and neighbors. 

Community is important to the spirit of Brooklyn Collective. Located in the charming Columbia Waterfront District, a corridor of shopping spanning from Atlantic Avenue to Red Hook, Brooklyn Collective houses the work of New York artists, ranging from the elegant to the obscure.
